Silly things Crimninals do- the 2023 edition

A lot of good folks do a lot of bad things when they feel they have no choice. While most attornies hate giving out free legal advice, I'm going to hand some out here and now.  DO NOT do what these people did:

• Run a "Breaking Bad style" meth lab, and then call the police on your self. "Chemical reagents and solvents that go into meth were found, along with over 3 ounces of meth, 625,000 milligrams of pure ketamine and 20 plastic jugs of gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), which is similar to the “date rape drug” were found at the location. To read the full story, click here. 
• Drive off a 100-foot cliff, in a misguided attempt to evade the police. Newser reports that the crimninal "'Hit[] an embankment at the end of the street, goes airborne over the bluff, off the beach, and into Long Island Sound' The car landed in 3 to 5 feet of water," at which time he was arrested. To read the full story, click here.

• Call an Uber to drive you away from an $8,000 tool heist. The plumbing store owner had become aware of the theft in progress through his security company, and called the police, who arrived before the suspect was able to get into the Uber. he was in possession of a backpack full of stolen items. To read the full story, click here.
